1/4 Brits Want All Immigrants Sent Back

Protest against high levels of immigration in Boston, Lincolnshire

A new report, "How to talk about immigration", contains some interesting statistics.

It was published by British Future, that describes itself as "an independent, non-partisan thinktank engaging people’s hopes and fears about integration and migration, opportunity and identity, so that we share a confident and welcoming Britain, inclusive and fair to all."

That description belies the "non-partisan" label, as we know what the socialist-shibboleth words "welcoming, inclusive and fair" actually mean. And reading the paper, whose authors declare to be shocked by some poll results it reports, confirms its partisan nature: if you are impartial, you should refrain from emotional involvement, which in itself shows that you have something at stake.

This is what shocks them. On page 17: asked what they think about the statement “The government should insist that all immigrants should return to the countries they came from, whether they’re here legally or illegally”, 25% of all UK respondents said they agree, 52% disagree.

One out of four is an impressive proportion, especially if you consider that the repatriation would be for all immigrants, legal and illegal, and given the current climate of fear of expressing opinions that the report's authors classify as "rejectionist": much nicer to be classified "liberal", which in the deceptive lingo the Left has imposed on all of us doesn't really mean - as it should - a defender of the freedom of the individual from the power of the state (the meaning intended by the creators of the term and its general philosophy), but a socialist or communist, namely its diametrically opposite. Leftists don't like to be called by their proper names: Marxist, socialist, Trotskyist, Maoist, communist, anarchist. They prefer the stolen moniker "liberal", even though - nay, exactly because - it's totally inaccurate.

But the opinion surveys carried out by ICM, Ipsos MORI and YouGov, on which the immigration report is based, have other good, indeed better, news. On page 16: over two thirds, namely 67%, of people interviewed disagree with “In an increasingly borderless world, we should welcome anyone who wants to come to Britain and not deter them with border controls”, while 14% agree.

England Calling comments:
Public rhetoric about immigration is rapidly hardening. There will come a tipping point where the rhetoric has departed so far from the politically correct position that serious action to restrict immigration will occur because the stretch between rhetoric and action will become too great to sustain in a society where governments are elected.

A party political bidding process on the subject of immigration is already taking place and there will come a point where serious action has to follow or there will be a very real chance that either one or more of the mainstream parties will become irrelevant and be superseded, or members of the mainstream parties will wrest control of these parties from their pc indoctrinated leadership and adopt a policy on immigration closer to what the public wants.

  1. We live in a country that is fuelled by Immigration and Migration. The Blue collar jobs, the jobs the British public do not want to do is done by our Immigrant/Migrant communities because the young people of Britain think its below them. We are educated to such a high standard that working on assembly line is beneath them, that if your not earning over 25,000 a year your not worth anything, the media and corporate influence has a huge part to play in gauging what success actually is, its a real shame the we believe them.

26% of NHS doctors are foreign born. The BMA says that without them, the NHS would struggle to provide effective care. 2) Almost 5.5 million British people currently live permanently abroad. 3) Immigrants are 60% LESS LIKELY to claim benefits than a British born person. 4) Between 1995-2011, EU immigrants contributed £8.8 billion MORE than they gained. 5) Most studies suggest that immigration has no overall effect on British unemployment. Stop trying to encourage xenophobia like this. I agree that immigration does need to be controlled and limited, but none needs assumptions that immigrants are benefit stealing scroungers either... Why are people hating immigrants. You forget that the British Empire went to all these peoples countries and took their natural resources, started wars, murdered and raped. Now they have nothing what do you expect. Turn your anger to the government and corrupt industries and corporations. It's your government that's making you poor, not these people.

Placing the blame for all the problems in Britain on immigration is naive and simplistic! All we are doing is fuelling hatred of people and sending our anger in the wrong direction! I don't see anyone asking me to do a questionnaire about HS2 or one about MPs pay rises or why the funding for the NHS is being cut. you know why they want you to do this questionnaire, why they want you to waist your energy on hating 'others' ? It is because if you bothered to look deeper into things you would see that those holding power and playing us like puppets, instilling hatred into those at the bottom so we can fight against each other while those rolling in the bank notes, increasing rents and lowering wages can sit back and laugh! Yes, immigration has changed our country, but I can tell you something I would not wanted to have lived or grown up in any other place in the world because of how wonderful diverse, tolerant and supportive I used to thing Britain was ! If we want to change the way that immigration has and is shaping this country we do not need to start with hatred and blame, we need to start with increasing the minimum wage so people can not experience wage cuts that make their lives unliveable, start with education and support of others, we need to look inside ourselves and work out why people would be willing to die in trucks rather than stay in the country they were born in! they might not be British but they are human and that makes them an 'us' not an 'other' we can stigmatise, blame and as someone said 'send back on a ship'! Right now I am ashamed to say I am British because I have no idea where these debates will take us! How are you going to define who you feel is a 'immigrant' and who is 'British'?

  2. Oh boy, you sure have your facts very wrong! Immigrants are a net loss to our economy. They generally have more dependants for which the taxpayer has to fund via subsidies. They consume our available housing with the result that we are never able to provide enough affordable social housing in our cities. (Our EU immigrants tend to live ten to a house to save enough money to go back home and buy property there.) They also consume their own foods and drinks which has to be imported at increased cost to our transport infrastructure and the environment. Our non-EU immigrants refuse on the whole, to integrate into British society and instead wish to bring their rituals and beliefs here and impose their rules on the rest of us, such as Sharia law and its dreadful consequences.
Our schools can no longer cope, neither can our prisons, our healthcare systems, nor our welfare systems.
Imposing minimum wages as you suggest will only make things worse and create more job losses whilst increasing prices for goods and services. Your comments are ignorant, left wing and unfounded in fact. You are obviously biased against reality, which always asserts itself regardless of your wishes.

  3. Without immigration, British society and economy would bleed to death. Immigration is a good thing. My main left artery was repaired by two Profs, one from Holland and one from Italy. The road is being repaired by lads from Armenia. The strawberries and fruit and veg counter are picked by summer migrants and as they pile up in the loading bay get driven away by British hauliers to British shops to be bought by British people. The immigrants plugging these little holes more than pay for themselves in multiplier effects on economic activity. Skills they learn here they take back to their homelands, who, if keen to keep skilled folk, would crack down on corruption and stop harassing small traders and people trying to make a living. The UK should be prouder, fearless and more welcoming. the Conservatives must lose their "perceived" hostility to immigration. They are the Party of the "Free Market". to oppose the free movement of people is hypocritical. Multiculturalism has been around in these islands at least since the Anles, Jutes and Saxons came over and displaced the Celts. That was about 2000 years ago. Between then and 1950 immigration was slow. Since then it has become massive.

Many comments claim that the immigrants don't integrate. Aside from the little interactions mentioned, how can integration occur? Doesn't it need to be 2-way? How many of us are pleased to accept hospitality and gifts of exotic dishes offered by the 'immigrants' and yet don't reciprocate? Difficult to have a truly 'multicultural' society when the core belief of many of those who inhabit one of those cultures is that all the others should be eradicated.

Speaking English does not promote integration into British, American and Australian societies, and broaden opportunities. English speaking Muslim youths are angry, frustrated and extremist, thanks to state schools with monolingual non-Muslim teachers and English language. English language is not only a lingua franca but also lingua frankensteinia. Human right are also covers linguistic right. Cultural and linguistic genocide are very common. British schooling is murdering community languages like Arabic, Urdu and others. English is today the world killer language. Linguistic genocide is a crime against humanity and British schooling is guilty of committing this crime. Language is not just a language. It defines one's culture, identity and consciousness. It defines how we think, communicate and express ourselves. The fact is the most South Asian Muslims have come to know Islam by way of Urdu, the children's alienation from the language that connects them the heritage of their parents and grandparents is disturbing. As a matter of fact, one has to get to know his mother tongue well if one is to master any other language.
